Heart and Stroke Canada – Basic Life Support Instructor

Once you have become a Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support Instructor (BLSI), you can deliver Basic Life Support training for Health Care Providers and Heart Saver CPR for the general public.

BLS Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers is a prerequisite for entry to all medical and medical-related faculties and for those working in the health-care field. All BLSI candidates must already have a current Heart and Stroke BLS.

This course has 3 components:

Core – Core training on how to facilitate training (All HS Instructors must take the Core). This is common to all Heart and Stroke Instructor programs. It is done online.
BLSI Course – This is an in-class 8-hour session.
Monitoring – This is a co-teach session in which you would be teaching with a BLSI.
