Swimming Instructor – Proficient Training

The Swim For Life program is the most widely used swimming program in Canada.

Swim For Life Instructors can find jobs teaching at community pools, private pools, waterfront programs, camps, school division swim programs and private swimming programs. Swim For Life Instructor certification is good across Canada.

Swim For Life includes the Swimmer program, Preschool, Parent and Tot, and Adult Swimmer. The Swim For Life Instructor, or Swimming Instructor, program is about how to teach these programs, learning characteristics of different age groups, how to apply these programs to teach people with disabilities, the physical principles of swimming, water safety, elementary lifesaving skills and several other topics. The Lifesaving Instructor program is about teaching lifesaving skills in levels such as Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross.

Prerequisites: Age 15 and older, and Bronze Cross.

Fridays from 5:30-8:30pm and Saturdays from 8:30-5:30 on May 22, 23, 29, 30 at the Winnipeg Winter Club; or,
Sundays from 9:00-6:00 on June 5, 6, 19, 20 at a Private Pool (TBA) on the first day and at Birds Hill Park waterfront on the other days.
$339 + GST = $355.95. There are no extra fees for non-residents.
Course books are $129. You may get them from us or elsewhere.

Friday, June 26, from 9:00-4:30 (Swimming Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor) at Birds Hill Park waterfront; or,

$159 + GST = $166.95 for Swimming Instructor Recert.
$199 + GST = $208.95 for Swimming Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor Recert.
